Luxury Car Dealership Accepts Bitcoin

Tilman Fertitta, the billionaire owner of the NBA’s Houston Rockets and star of Billion Dollar Buyer on CNBC, has announced his luxury automobile dealership Post Oak Motor Cars is to accept BCH and BTC for payments. Buyers from anywhere in the world are now able to purchase the retailer’s Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Bugatti cars via a partnership with Bitpay. “The rising of bitcoin sparked my interest,” said Fertitta. “Being a premier luxury car dealer, I always want to offer my customers the very best buying experience and this partnership will allow anyone around the world to purchase our vehicles faster and easier.”

“We’ve noticed people prefer to make larger purchases with bitcoin since it is a simple way to make payments,” said Sonny Singh, Chief Commercial Officer of Bitpay. “This partnership is timely with the increasing popularity of Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Bugatti vehicles. Post Oak Motors has a great reputation of selling the finest cars and we are thrilled to be partnering with Tilman.”

Coinbase Pro Adds GBP Trading Pairs

Coinbase, which announced support for British pounds (GBP) to UK-based customers earlier this month, is set to launch a number of new GBP trading pairs on Friday September 7 on Coinbase Pro. The new pairs that the exchange is launching are: ETH/GBP, ETC/GBP, LTC/GBP and BCH/GBP. (It already supports BTC/GBP). In advance of the launch of the new trading pairs, all UK customers now have access to send GBP to their Coinbase accounts via domestic bank transfer.

David Farmer, General Manager of Coinbase Pro, stated: “With support for UK domestic bank transfers in GBP via the Faster Payments Scheme, it is now significantly easier, faster and cheaper for UK customers to trade cryptocurrencies on the Coinbase platform. Coinbase Pro is the only major digital currency trading platform that supports UK Faster Payments and it’s our goal to be the trading platform of choice for UK crypto traders.”

Basketballers to Earn Crypto

The Women’s National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA), which represents the professional female basketballers of the WNBA, has found a new way for players to earn some crypto. The organization has reached an agreement Sportscastr, a live-streaming platform, that all current players will be invited to provide live commentary across a range of professional and college sports. They will have a dedicated portal within the platform that aggregates all player content, highlights featured content and includes a dedicated leaderboard where fans can discover the most popular player streams.

“Fans crave authentic interaction, and through the Sportscastr live-streaming platform, our players have another exciting way to engage fans in real-time,” said Terri Jackson, Director of Operations for the WNBPA. “This innovative technology also fits our objective to build unique group licensing opportunities through REP Worldwide that bring fans and players closer.”

Robinhood App Gets New Features

Robinhood Financial, the Palo Alto-headquartered US brokerage app, has announced a number of new additions to its mobile trading platform. These include commentary and ratings from Wall Street analysts, the ability to discover what other investors bought on the app, the addition of over 250 global stocks, and apparently the most popular new feature – candlestick charts.

The team wrote: “We’ve received daily requests to add candlestick charts to Robinhood, and over the next few weeks, we’ll be bringing them to the stock, options, and cryptocurrency pages on mobile. Candlestick charts help investors better understand how prices move. While a line chart shows you only the close price, each candlestick shows you four pieces of information: the open, high, low, and close price during a certain time period.”
